The third edition of the Adolf Lieben Lectureship is already on the horizon and we are delighted to announce the winner of the 2018 Edition.
Laureate 2018: Prof. Erick Carreira (ETH Zürich)
Prof. Erick Carreira (ETH Zürich) was born in Cuba and studied at the University of Illinois (B.Sc.) before doing his Ph.D. at the Harvard University with David A. Evans. Following a Post-Doctoral stay with Prof. Peter Dervan at CalTech he was appointed Assistant Professor at the same Institute in 1992 and rose through the ranks to become Full Professor in 1997. One year later he moved to the ETH Zürich to take his present position as Full Professor of Synthetic Chemistry. Prof. Carreira is well-known for his spectacular contributions to Total Synthesis of Natural Products as well as for many elegant works in the field of asymmetric catalysis.
Prof. Carreira will deliver 3 lectures within the Lieben Lectureship 2018:
